The Bay Area's own Johnny Otis sadly passed away earlier this week. Commonly referred to as the "Godfather of Rhythm and Blues" Otis was a huge asset to the music community. He was a singer, musician, talent scout, disc jockey, composer and an arranger just to name a few of the roles he played in the business. This music is special and even though I am too young to have experienced it in it's heyday, it still holds a special place in my heart as I have been obsessed with these kinds of oldies since I was a kid.
